The Child Development Home is an exciting new care option
for families with children ages 12 and under. The home is
conveniently located in military housing at Sebille Manor,
across from Naldrett Elementary School. Operating hours are
from 6:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
The home is staffed with experienced caregivers, trained in
CPR/First Aid, safety, fire safety, and professional
caregiving skills. All staff are required to complete annual
training. The adult to child ratio is 2:12, allowing
caregivers to provide positive interactions which support
children’s emotional development. The staff are trained to
use a variety of strategies to enhance the children’s
learning and development each day.
The Child Development Home does not operate without an
intensive support system. The Air Force Fire Department
inspects the home monthly, and conducts monthly fire drills.
The Selfridge Community Health Nurse inspects the home
monthly and is available during all hours of operation for
assistance. The TACOM Safety office inspects the home
bi-annually. The home is managed by the Bryant Child
Development Center which has maintained NAEYC accreditation
for the past thirteen years and is committed to providing
quality educational experiences for our community’s
children.
The daily schedule provides periods of quiet and active play
as well as a balance of small motor and large motor
activities. The home has a large outdoor play yard and the
gated community offers opportunities for pleasant walks in a
buggy with tricycles in tow. A room in the home is dedicated
to large motor activities when the Michigan weather does not
allow for outdoor play.
Three meals are offered each day: breakfast, lunch and an
afternoon snack. Our meal service is in compliance with and
is monitored by the Michigan Child and Adult Care Food
Program. Infant formula, cereal, and jar foods are offered
for children under twelve months of age.
Child Development caregivers track each child’s
developmental growth, and provide individualized activity
plans which emphasize concrete learning experiences.
Children are encouraged to reason, explore, and problem
solve. Children are recognized for developing pro-social
behaviors including respect. |
