Our Philosophy:
The Bryant
Child Development Center
provides quality developmental programs for children.
Whether children are enrolled in the full day, part day,
or hourly programs, a schedule of planned activities
will enable the children to develop and grow in a
caring, nurturing environment.
These programs will reflect knowledge and
understanding of the growth and development of children,
and provide experiences to enhance and support
children's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive
growth. Program practices will reflect age
appropriateness and individual appropriateness.
Our Mission
Is to provide experiences that enhance
and support children's physical, socioemotional and
cognitive development for eligible children between the
ages of six weeks and six years. The Selfridge Bryant
Child Development Services programs support readiness
and retention by providing quality programs that
increase the soldier satisfaction with the Army as a way
of life. |

A Measure of Quality
The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)
is the largest organization of early childhood professionals in
the United States. An independent group of specialists and
educators, NAEYC sets child care standards of excellence in the
areas of health, safety, staff qualifications, classroom
environments, learning programs, and children's activities. With
more than 90,000 members, NAEYC provides distinguished
leadership in the field of child care and early childhood
education.
A Center that meets prescribed quality criteria
can be accredited by NAEYC. The Department of Army is committed
to providing their families the highest quality child care
available and expects Army CDCs to achieve this benchmark.
Accreditation is not easy. It takes months of study,
preparation, and implementation to achieve this status. Only
about 5% of the over 80,000 child care centers in the Unites
States have earned this quality seal. Accreditation through NAEYC requires a long-term commitment to meeting strict quality
standards. We're proud that we have achieved this level of
quality. It's part of our ongoing commitment to provide quality
child care for your family.
The Center has been NAEYC Accredited since 1992.
It is also DOD Certified and has received the Fiscal Year 2000
Program of Excellence Award. To read a recent article about the

The Center participates in this program by providing a sound

discriminated against because of race, color, national origin,
sex, age, or disability. Any person who believes that he or she
has been discriminated against in any USDA-related activity
should write immediately to the Secretary of Agriculture,
Washington, D.C. 20250. |
