The foundation is completed, and all 7 trailers are on site.
Jeff Thomas has a crew working on the second level walls and roof of the Multi Purpose Room,
and there is a Mechanical sub on site working on the duct work and sheet metal.
The CDC Power contractor is pulling the cable for the tie into the power cable Sat 22 Mar 2008.
Jeff has had other crews on site this week, plumbers, electricians, mechanical/sheet metal, sprinkler systems and alarm installers.
Jeff also meet with Fred Napier from the Detroit Arsenal Fire Department to review the site plans of the base water and fire lines,
to select the location to connect to the CDC.
The roofing crew installs panels on the Multi Purpose Room roof area, see the photo. Jeff has the drywall crew on site this week and the interior is looking better. This week also included the following crews, plumbers, mechanical/sheet metal and sprinkler systems. Jeff had the 8 inch water line just west of the CDC tested (waiting written report) but it looks like he will be able to connect the potable water 3 inch line, the 6 inch fire hydrant line, the 6 inch sprinkler line and the 3/4 inch boiler/chiller line to the CDC.
Jeff Thomas the Prime Contractor's on site Superintendent has had insulation placed around the outside of the foundation walls and than backfilled.
The electrical panel. The building has 13 panels located to control the different areas.
Fire extinguisher. There are 9 located in wall mounted cabinets through out the building.

Tim had the following contractors on site this week, Plumbers, HVAC, Drywallers and the Comm Crew. The comm wire will be above the ceiling.
Jeff Thomas the on site Superintendent had visitors on Wed/04 Jun 08, from the West Region of IMCOM. Mr. J. Randall Robinson the Director along with his Chief of Staff Dan Davis where joined by Denise Ellis-Goyke, Nancy Mitchell, Jackie Uhazie and Robert Graves the IMCOM Detroit Arsenal Commander for a guided tour of the new Detroit Arsenal Child Development Center. The exchange of information went well and all left better informed.
The exterior of the CDC is currently having a brick veneer installed.
The tile setters crew is on site and they have started installing the glazed wall tile.
The Mechanical Contractor has been busy installing the lines from the Chiller to the CDC.
The line taps that were done on Fri/30 May 2008 on the 8 " water main, have continued to be worked on, and the Fire Hydrant is now in place. The CDC also had the Electrical Crew, Drywallers/Painters/Ceiling Grid Crews plus the return of the Roofers, all on site this week.
The concern over the sewer line from the CDC to the manhole and the 2 - 4" conduits that needed to be raised to allow the sewer line to be connected has been taken care of. Once the Plumber connects the 6" sewer line into the manhole, the contractor Signal Source Inc., will install a two piece snap together conduit, which will hold the raised elevation.
The flooring in the rooms of the 0-5 wing of the CDC has started. The seams will be welded to produce a bonded flooring joint. Jeff Thomas the Superintendent has had the following sub-contractors on site this week; Electrical, Roofers, Painters, Ceiling Grid Installers, Drywallers, Tile Setters, HVAC/Plumbers, Excavators and Bricklayers.
The windows have been installed in the second level of the Multi Purpose Room.
The interior is starting to take shape.
Jeff has the Electrical, Bricklayers, Flooring, Tile Setters, Ceiling Grid Crew, Plumbers, Mechanical, Roofers and even Tom Libby from Simplex, all working on site.
The conduit for the fiber has been installed from the future manhole to the CDC. Plumber is working on the details to install the sewer line from the CDC to the sewer manhole. The sewer manhole has been cored and the channel cut made inside.
The "Activity Room / Eating" has the cabinets in place and you can see the colorful flooring.
The Kitchen Equipment is installed in the "Kitchen Area" (DA!) The first photo is the wash area, the cooking area and the refrigerator/freezer area equipment are also in place.
The support posts are in place and ready for the meter stand to be set on Mon/28 July 2008. The CDC Mechanical Contractor can install the black pipe from the meter stand to the Boiler/Chiller on Tue/30 July or after. The gas line is scheduled to be installed the week of 4 to 8 August 2008. This is a one day operations and the next day the meter will be set and the gas will be in the line, ready for the CDC use.
The 12 inch Reinforced Concrete Pipe (RCP) storm drain is installed under the roadway/drive to carry the water from one swale to the other.
The sewer line from the CDC to the base manhole is complete and working just fine, no photos on this one. Next week should see the sidewalk forms being set and more site grading being completed, in both the paving area and the landscaping/play areas.
Kevin Skrobot/DOIM has had his Prime Contractor and the Sub-contractors working on the installation of the Communication Lines, now that all the 4 inch underground conduits are in place. They are also working on completing the alarm system loop to the Detroit Arsenal Control/Dispatch room in Bldg 205. The target date for completion of the Communication Lines is 4 August and the Alarms is 13 August 2008.
