Family Training:
The program is really the Army Family Team
Building Program. It is slightly modified to embrace all
services and status (Active Duty, Reserve and Guard).
The program helps
families adjust to the military lifestyle. The service
member receives intensive indoctrination to their service.
On the other hand, family members are lost in the acronyms,
customs, and other subtle aspects of military life. This is
where AFTB tries to help. It is taught by family members
for family members.
AFTB has a level for you....
-
LEVEL I is composed of 8 modules or
classes (6-8 hours of training) and is designed for Army
spouses and soldiers the new to the Army or anyone
interested in updating personal skills or basic
knowledge. Classes include military acronyms & terms,
customs and chain of command/chain of concern. Level 1
classes are the “Basic Training” you need to survive and
thrive in the Army.
-
LEVEL II has 19 modules (20-22 hours of
training) that are geared toward emerging leaders.
Classes include Leadership Skills, Group Dynamics,
Family Readiness Groups, and Adapting to Change. Level 2
classes are designed to equip you to be a volunteer
leader and/or effective group member in all your
organizations.
-
LEVEL III has 14 modules (20-22 hours of
training) offering training to enhance the professional
growth and leadership development opportunities of
soldiers and family members, especially those who might
assume advisory and mentoring leadership roles with the
community and unit. Level 3 classes help you transition
from leader to advisor.
