CONSUMER RIGHTS & RESPONSIBILITIES:  Can assist the consumer by providing guidance, advice, and direction in matters related to but not limited to product/service satisfaction, deceptive advertising, unfair practices, fair debt collection, and lemon law.  We educate the consumer by providing information, knowledge, and literature on specific topics; as well as the many resources available for intervention.

CONSUMER COMPLAINT & RESOLUTION:  We can assist individuals in the overall complaint process, procedural requirements, or alternative resource agencies designed for their specific consumer topic.  In most cases, when an official consumer complaint action and continued follow up action is required, we refer them directly to our local Military Legal Assistance Office.  If you would like to file a consumer complaint, you may obtain a DA form #5184-R by contacting us by e-mail at Financial Readiness

CONSUMER RESOURCE HANDBOOK:  The Financial Readiness Program has developed a Consumer Handbook for the State of Michigan.  This handbook will assist military members with direction and guidance on related issues relevant to their residential areas of concern (i.e., Michigan No Fault Automobile Insurance, Rent-To-Own, Credit Reporting Agencies, Soldier/Sailor Civilian Relief Act, Filing Government Claims, etc.).  For a free copy, please call our office at (586) 573-0482 or through e-mail  Financial Readiness

LOCAL CONSUMER RESOURCES:  “Our program can provide a general listing or specific service organizations within the geographically area to assist eligible military beneficiaries in obtaining intervention, information, or assistance in resolving most consumer issues.”
